Introduction
My name is Reiya Smith. Originally from Manchester, UK, I now reside in West Yorkshire. As an abstract artist, I have been selling art since 2019, finally pursuing my life-long creative passion and dream for art inspiration!
Style
As an abstract artist, my primary style is rooted in abstraction. However, I've never felt confined to just that box. I love to explore different unique styles and draw inspiration from various sources. While I primarily use acrylics, I also enjoy experimenting with other mediums and materials. I embrace the challenges that come with learning new techniques because I believe that only by challenging yourself can you truly grow as a person. Art inspiration is everywhere, and I strive to incorporate it into my work, reflecting my journey as an artist, including my evolution as Reiya Smith.
Inspiration
Throughout my life, I've always been a creative individual. From a young age, if I wasn't engrossed in a coloring book, I was busy illustrating comics. Art was always my favorite subject; however, outside influences led me away from pursuing art in sixth form, where I reluctantly studied other subjects. It wasn't until I returned to college to gain an extended diploma in Art & Design that my love for abstract art truly began to surface, leading me to where I am today as an abstract artist.
I deeply believe that our passions shape us, and I encourage everyone to follow their passion and not suppress it. My art inspiration comes from the idea of being your true authentic self and daring to step outside the box, regardless of what others think. Stay true to yourself.
I create paintings to brighten a space, just as art has brightened my own life. My purpose is to convey the excitement I feel while creating and transfer that positive energy straight to you, the client. Through my work, I aim to remind us all of the magic within us, as inspired by my journey as Reiya Smith.
